DESCRIPTION:
Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "REGULATOR No. 6, DOUBLE TIME" in walnut, weight driven, 8 day, with nickeled bezels, weight and damasc pattern pendulum bob. This very clock is pictured in Tran Ly's 3rd Edition on Seth Thomas Clocks, page 284, c1884, shown as Wasserman collection item.
CONDITION:
overall in excellent original condition. There is some wear to the original painted dials from setting the hands. We have given you some extra detail photos on our website so you can see that the driveshaft and beveled gears are original and intact. Porcelain plaques stating City Time & Rail Road Time are perfect except for a hairline in the RR Time [no chips]. The original hanging bracket is now held in place with old machine screws (a common & good change for a heavy clock). The walnut case has a pleasant dark red hue. Finials are all original. Counter weighted hands original. Original wavy glass in door. These are rare items and it is nice to find one of documented provenance. Ht 49"
